Our first group coaching session brought together professionals at different stages of their journey, each seeking clarity, confidence, and a sense of direction. What emerged was a powerful exchange of lived experiences, common struggles, and personalised solutions.
Behind every job search, role pivot, or return to work, there’s a storm of emotions: “Am I still relevant?” “Why is no one calling me back?” “How do I explain this break or switch in interviews?” “Do I even fit in anymore?”
These were the very questions that surfaced.
Some participants had taken intentional breaks but returning proved harder than expected. Some were stuck in roles they had outgrown, yet feared being misunderstood in interviews. Some felt invisible after sending out dozens of résumés with no response.
We didn’t offer generic advice. We broke it down.
We worked through why online job applications alone don’t work anymore, especially if your story doesn’t fit a “standard” mould. We reframed career breaks as strategic decisions, not setbacks and showed how to communicate that in a way hiring managers respect. We dived deep into the “how to position yourself for a role you’ve never held on paper” — especially when you know you’re capable. We tackled interview anxiety and rewired the fear of “what will they ask?” into an opportunity to take control of the narrative.
A big part of the session focused on storytelling but not just any story.
We used a framework called CAR (Challenge – Action – Result) to help participants identify their real impact, not just responsibilities. Because in interviews, clarity wins. Numbers win. Stories win.
